Using a 240v extension cable is no problem at all, it is common practice to enable your charger to reach further than the provided cable. However, you will want to purchase an extension cord made of higher-quality copper rather than the cheaper aluminum products. Your safety is #1 for us, so please ensure you purchase a safety-certified extension cord with a thick enough wire gauge that meets your outlet dimensions, and you should be all good to go. Wire Gauge: For 100ft, we suggest a 6AWG (8AWG minimum) extension cord if you plan on charging at full 40A (NEMA 14-50 or NEMA 6-50) of power. If you are extending a NEMA 10-30 or NEMA 14-30, you can use a 8AWG (10AWG minimum) extension cord instead as the maximum power draw will be limited to 24A.
