Overview:

The NeoCharge Energy Monitor is installed inside your main electrical panel by a licensed electrician. Current sensors on the service mains measure your whole home's electricity use, and two branch sensors measure your EV charger (and optionally one more circuit). The monitor reports over Wi-Fi or Ethernet to the NeoCharge app.

Licensed electrician only. This installation involves work inside an energized electrical panel. The service mains stay energized even with the main breaker off.

The Energy Monitor comes in two versions. Both share the same model number, so check the sensors in the box rather than the label.

• Main 200A CTs (2x). The flexible-sensor kit includes two Rogowski coils with integrators plus one sensor power supply instead.
• Branch 50A CTs (2x)

• Wire nuts and splicing wires

The One Rule: Sensor Ports

• Ports 1 and 2 = the service mains. Always. The app treats CT 1 and CT 2 as the mains. Port 1 on the L1 (black) line is preferred, not required.
• Ports 3 and 4 = your choice. For an EMS install, the EV charger must be on at least one of them.

Installation at a Glance:

1. Start the charger firmware update first. If you're installing an EMS, add the Autel charger to the Autel Charge app and start its firmware update before turning off the main breaker. It takes 5-10 minutes.
2. Turn the main breaker OFF and remove the panel cover.
3. Mount the monitor at least 2 in (50.8 mm) from live parts.
4. Connect the voltage harness to the right-side port: Black L1 and Red L2 to adjacent stacked breakers, White to neutral, and cap Blue (3-phase only).
5. Connect internet to the left-side ports: the Wi-Fi antenna through a knockout to the outside of the metal box, or Ethernet (takes priority if both are connected).
6. Install the mains sensors on ports 1 and 2. For split-core CTs, the "Load / Breaker" label faces the breakers. For Rogowski coils, the arrow points toward the load.
7. Install the branch CTs on ports 3 and 4, typically one on each leg of the EV charger breaker.
8. Photograph the whole setup and the back label of the monitor before closing the panel. The label has the installer PIN needed for EMS pairing.
9. Put the cover on and turn the breakers on. The status light should show PURPLE with a BLUE blink (ready for setup).
